Welcome to a special edition of Hungry Socialites by Karte Blanche & Co.

Rowing Blazers’ Nantucket Pop-Up is located within the legendary Murray’s Toggery Shop, in Nantucket Island’s Downtown Historic District. Opened in 1945, but with earlier roots traced back to the location that was first opened in 1843 by R. H. Macy as a dry goods store then to eventually becoming a toggery shop in 1916. In the 1960s, Murray’s Toggery introduced their iconic Nantucket Reds canvas: a dusty pink fabric that has since defined the island’s aesthetic identity. Leading American Polo Champion

Queen's Cup - Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II(ClickPolo)

Nic Roldan was born in Argentina and raised in the United States. His father played polo professionally and his father's family and their family prior. Nic grew up on a farm while his father played for the US for 35 years - that team had a lot of horses and Nic was able to play those horses and on teams at a very young age, which would soon become his profession. At age 15 he won the US Open, which historically is the most important tournament in the United States and became the youngest player to win. Today Nic resides in Florida and is the face of American Polo. We spoke with Nic before his return to The Bentley Scottsdale Polo Championships to be held in Scottsdale, Arizona on Nov. 5th.

Q. You have achieved so much already, what about now - what are goals?
A. I still would love to accomplish to win the US Open again, you know, there's certain tournaments around the world that every top professional wants to win. In England, I'd love to win the Gold Cup, or the British Open... other than that, it's just about growing the sport, and being a great ambassador to the sport. I feel like I still have a good 10 years of Polo left in me, as long as I'm healthy. But I always look forward to coming back to Scottsdale, I think it's a great event - Jason and his team do such a great job. It's such a great environment with great energy, and, you know, the fans are awesome.

Q. Do you have your favorite horses you choose for your polo games?
A. I have favorites of my own, but they are not the horses sent to the games. So, I don't know the horses very well. You need multiple horses to play a polo game - usually between six and ten. Melissa Ganzi, who is the best, organizes the teams and organizes the horses. I work with her and her husband year-round and they own a couple of different polo clubs in the US - one in Aspen, one in Wellington. She is a huge supporter of the Scottsdale polo event and is an incredible advocate of the sport. She will send horses for our team, probably about 15 horses.

Q. With your passion for the sport, can you tell us about the nonprofits you're involved with?
A. Yep! I do a lot of work with the Boys and Girls Club in Wellington and West Palm Beach, Florida and for the Kids Cancer Foundation. Local charities in Aspen - The Wind Walkers is a therapeutic riding facility for mentally and physically disabled children and Buddy Program which supports underprivileged kids in the area. I love being able to help kids in any way, shape, or form and is something that I really strive to participate in.
Thank you Nic!

Ralph Lauren has revealed its mystery locale for their 2023 spring/summer runway show to be held in California on Oct. 13th. Following a recent trend - "This will be a first-ever show on the West Coast. The designer will present both menswear and womenswear in a special fashion experience that will be uniquely Ralph Lauren," announced the company. Lauren's inspirations have been traditionally classic and tailored from a Montauk ease to a Colorado chic, but the brand's shows have always been very glamourous - this one is sure to impress.

In 1967 Ralph Lauren launched a neckwear line under the name Polo - a collection of wide ties handmade from the highest quality fabrics inspired by the glamour of Old Hollywood.
There is a very old tradition at Oxford inside Oxford's oldest pub - The Bear Inn whereas if you go in to get a beer and you happen to be wearing a club tie that is not already in their collection (their walls are covered in swatches of club, academic and regimental neckties) they just might snip off a piece of yours with scissors in return for a half-pint of beer.
